(New Video Post) “Actions Speak Louder Than Words” [Vlog

Happy Self Love Saturday!!

“Actions Speak Louder Than Words” is a common saying that we’ve all heard a trillion times, but this week I had a lesson in accepting it.

It seems simple but over the years I have had a hard time truly accepting the actions of others when it goes against my image of them or getting something I want. But this week I think I finally got it and then I realized the same goes for myself in terms of accountability, am I just talking the talk? Or am I walking the walk too?

Our words mean nothing if there’s no action to back it up and this week I had a lot of self reflection and questions for myself because there’s nothing louder than the volume of our actions. So ask your self, how often to point fingers in regards to your situation? What are you physically doing to change your situation and who in your life are you listening to in the wrong way? Listening to their words instead of their actions? Check out my video below and let me know how your week has been!

(New Video Post) Don’t Make It Complicated – Be Honest #SelfLoveSaturday

Happy Self Love Saturday!

Today’s message is inspired by my upcoming series Beyond Complicated which drops this Wednesday March 9th on my youtube channel! Woop! In Beyond Complicated we explore the simple miscommunications that happen within relationships when we are not fully honest with our thoughts and intentions and needs. One of the most important things I’ve learned on my self love journey is just be honest, with my self and with others, especially anyone that I am in an intimate relationship with. It makes life a whole lot simpler when I’m honest with how I feel and everything that is on my heart is understood. Check out the video and be on the look out for Beyond Complicated!

(New Video Post) Start Planning For 2016 #SelfLove

Hey guys!

On today’s #SelfLove Video I want to talk to you about getting started on your 2016 goals and plans. I don’t believe in starting your new year resolutions on January 1st, instead I think you should begin your new year resolutions by no later than Dec 1st! Get started on your year early! For me, by time Canadian Thanksgiving hits (early October) I’m already planning what I want my next year to look like. The daydreaming and planning process is one of my favorite things to do, whether writing it down, building a new vision board or simply watching Ted Talks to gain inspiration, it was one of the most relaxing and fulfilling things you can do for yourself to prepare you for next year. Check out my video below and tell me some of your 2016 goals in the comments below.

I happened to stumble on a mural that said “Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful” and it inspired me to talk about that subject on this edition of SelfLoveSaturday. Check out the video below,

(New Video Post) Relinquishing Control in Your Relationship #SelfLoveSaturday

Happy Self Love Saturday!

Recently I got a message from God, I say this because in one day I ended up having two separate conversations about the same topic. When something like that happens to me, I know it’s not coincidence, it’s a message and I have to take it seriously. The topic at hand was relationships and understanding, accepting and relinquishing control of the person infront of you. It’s sometimes hard to accept the fact that the people we’re in relationships with can change, love is a two way street and with that you have to accept that you cannot control the person infront of you. Acceptance of who they are and who they are becoming or grown to be will help you dealing with any changes happening. But just like everything else in life, our relationships change for a reason and at the end of the day you have to trust in God that he is always guiding you to the places and people that you are supposed to be with. Check out my video below.

Happy Self Love Saturday!

I have been feeling very stressed and worried lately because I have a lot on my plate and some of it is going really well and other parts could definitely improve. But because I have enough self awareness and I’ve been on my self love journey for a little while now I understand how to deal and relieve my stress and worry with a few tips that I have picked up a long the way that I want to share with you guys. 1. Find Room to Breathe: Take a minute to shut everything off, including your brain. Breathe, close your eyes and be still for as long as you can to clear your head.
2. Exercise: Physical activity of any level will help to relieve any tension and stress and put you in a better mood:

3. Worst Case Scenario: Think about the worst case scenario and then create the solution! Once you have this figured out, it will ease your mind and you will feel prepared for anything.

4. Talk About It: Talk about your problems with a friend, share how you feel and let someone give you their prespective. If you’re really not comfortable sharing then write it out, this is a great help too.
5. Music: Music is an amazing way to lift your mood and relax your mind and body. I put on music for everything and it helps me when I need to gain energy.

(New Video Post) The Darkest Hour Only Has 60 mins #SelfLoveSaturday

Happy Self Love Saturday!

Today I want to talk about the quote “The darkest hour only has 60 minutes” . I stumbled on this quote on instagram right when I needed it. I had many moments last year of asking “why is all of this ish happening?!” and when I saw this quote I actually got some reassurance because I realize that whatever I am going through, it wil pass and it’s only an hour, or a day, or a month etc. And when I come through it I will have learnt a whole lot more and grown tremendously. That’s the cycle of life, we have to go through rough times in order to come out stronger and wiser but like the saying goes, “even the darkest hour only has 60 minutes”. Check out my video below and I hope this helps anyone going through a rough time.

(New Video Post) #DearMe – Self Love Satuday Edition #SelfLoveSaturday

Screen Shot 2015-03-06 at 6.25.39 PM

Happy Self Love Saturday!

Today I took part in the #DearMe Campaign that youtube is doing to celebrate international women’s day. They have a great campaign going encouraging women to make videos giving advice to your younger self. I took awhile to think about exactly what I would say to “younger Andrea” and the main thing I wish I could’ve told her is to “love herself”. I wish I knew the power of self love when I was younger and that I invested in loving myself a lot sooner, but like Maya Angelou once told me “everything happens in it’s time”. The advice I touched on in this video is:

1. You Are Enough: Let go of the fear and the notion that you are not enough, because you most absolutely are! You are uniquely created and you are enough.

2. Be An Artist: You art fulfills you and makes you happy so explore it, enjoy it, share it and do it because you are an artist.

3. Be Yourself: You don’t have to fit into anyone’s box. You can do whatever and be whoever you want.

4. Appreciate Your Natural Beauty: God gave you a lot of natural beauty, embrace it and make the very best of it!

5. Listen To Your Intuition: That voice inside of your head, heart and gut is there for a reason, don’t doubt it just listen to it always!

6. Don’t Be Afraid of Confrontation: It is important to have your voice heard, so don’t be afraid to speak up for what you believe, what you think is right, when you’re feeling wronged or simply when you have a better idea!

7. Happiness Comes From Within: There is no outside factor that is going to make you happy if you don’t find the happiness within yourself first.

8. Appreciate The Struggle: I know it might seem hard but appreciate the struggle and the rejection. These times will help you to grow and learn and become better.

9. You Are Great: If only my younger self could know then what I know now, she would know just how great she’s going to be!
